Reverts crisis by closing a difficult year, Port of Guaymas grew 5% in 2009
The Administración Portuaria Integral de Guaymas announced that grew between 5 percent and 6 percent in annual trade cargo movement, after the many problems that it faced the entity, for the international crisis and the effects of Hurricane Jimena.

A positive figure for a year that has been difficult for the port heading, since the international crisis affecting the movement of cargo between 20 to 25 percent, generating a significant impact on shipping and terminals. As for cargo movement, said the port expects growth in 2010, with a recovery of charges in quiescence, which follows a commercial work it is doing behind the port, the shipping companies move in the different ports according to the commercial offer is given to them.
The recovery of Mittal Steel, BHP Billiton, and various international transit charges negotiated by the port in the southern of the United States, will have a significant upturn in 2010, likewise continued the construction of the terminal in progress (granulated and minerals) and the upcoming tender for the new container terminal, Fluid, Concentrate and Iron reaffirming the confidence of investors for this projects in the Puerto de Guaymas.
It highlights the inclusion of new products to the range of mobilization of mineral and agricultural bulk cargo such is the case for export by Guaymas of 190 thousand tons of maize export with destiny to market of Colombia, and clinker export to South America.
