Eight groups are interested in the Container terminal of Guaymas
In the competition for the construction and operation of a terminal for containerized cargo and general loose cargo in the port of Guaymas, Sonora, acquired the bases of competition eight companies, four from Mexico, two Americans, a Chilean and a company Belgian origin.
The General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine through the Port Authority (IPA) from Guaymas, Sonora, published last March 12, 2010, in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) the public notice for the granting of a contract for partial assignment of rights for the establishment of a container terminal and general loose cargo.
The public bid is directed towards Mexican or foreign persons, who may compete for an area of fifty-three thousand four hundred square meters (m2) in the port area; of that space, twenty one thousand five hundred fifty-five m2 rely on a water front for the construction of pier one with length of 320 meters and 30 meters wide, plus an area of 31 thousand 845 m2 without water front.
The competition also includes a patio of 20 hectares leased by the API, which is located outside the port sector, the area of Empalme, Sonora, where it was enabled as the Logistics Activities Zone and which is in process to obtain a classification fiscal area.
The award of this public bid is planned for the second week of August this year.
