On December 21, 2009 the beginning of the operation of the terminal specialized for the management of Iron Ore , property of Arcelor Mittal with the docking to the port of Guaymas of the ship carrying a Mexican flag with the maximum capacity registered in the National Port system.

The ship was Mexican flagged in the past days in the port of Lazaro Cardenas with the presence of several branch authorities. With the start of this operation the route covered in a fortnight is from Michoacan , Lazaro Cardenas to Port of Guaymas.

The ship Mexico city is the vessel with the most contribution wich has been registered on arrive on the docks of public use in the Port of Guaymas this would not be possible if it were not the work of dredging to recuperate the depth of -13 meters which was changed caused by the impact of the hurricane Jimena.
